IATA Dangerous Goods - Introduction

This course is designed to introduce personnel to the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.

Upon successful completion of the three day Dangerous goods Acceptance Course an accredited certificate will be issued. Upon completion of the Dangerous Goods Air Acceptance Course, trained personnel will be able to:

  • Comprehend Dangerous Goods terminology and have an understanding of the general philosophy on carriage of dangerous goods

  • Understand the classes, divisions and packing groups of Dangerous Goods

  • Know the relation between Australian Dangerous Goods legislation and ICAO

  • Know the relation between IATA and ICAO

  • Efficiently apply the IATA Regulations to day to day processing of Dangerous Goods Shipments

  • Shippers responsibilities.

  • Operators responsibilities.

  • Mark and label packages correctly.

  • Identification of Dangerous Goods including allocation of proper shipping names and N.O.S. items

  • Completion of the Dangerous Goods Declaration for air transport.
